Let’s tidy up this 22l dirted tank by trimming back the pearl weed, frogbit, java moss and crinum bulb fronds. Aquascapes and nanoscapes like this one can quickly get overgrown, especially if you have a lot of healthy nutrients for your plants in the water column.
Because of the mud underneath the sand substrate, that’s definitely the case with this aquarium, so the aquatic plants have grown quickly since the tank was first set up about six weeks ago.
But it’s all good. Tinkering with tanks is what we love doing, right? And it’s good to know that the plants are happy and healthy. As you can see, they’re lapping up the nutrients and there’s very little algae in sight.
