In this video, I revisit the Dutch-inspired bowl aquascape I set up 30 days later, and look at how it’s progressing. Not everything has been a success, and I’ll go through the challenges that arose and how I addressed them.
This 13-litre bowl was set up using a dirted tank method, with wild mud capped with play sand. Inspired by Dutch aquascaping, five species of plants were arranged in neat rows. There’s no filter, no heater, and no CO2, but a delicate ecosystem has been established, with a cleanup crew of snails and shrimps.
We’ll do a bit of maintenance, and talk about what changes have taken place regarding the plants and creatures living in the bowl. While there have been a few issues to deal with, it’s developing into a beautiful nanoscape – like a living light that would look great in any living room.
Here are some of the products used. Where possible, I’m providing an Amazon Associates link. If you purchase through that method, then thank you very much, you’ll be helping support the channel.
