AquascapingInspiration

Let’s build an aquascape in a giant wine glass

A while back, I bought a giant wine glass online and posted a short asking viewers whether they wanted me to use it for an aquascape inspired by red or white wine. The vote said ‘red’ and, although it’s taken a while, here’s the video I made.

It covers entire process of setting up a nanoscape in a giant wine glass. I use a dirted tank method with wild mud capped with sand providing nutrients for the aquatic plants. There’s a little bit of hardscaping, and the plant selection is based around a red wine theme. Basically, I’ve chosen red species as viewers voted that we take inspiration from red wine for this project.

The project covers the first two weeks and includes includes a little bit of maintenance and tweaking that goes on after the initial build, including water changes and the introduction of a special inhabitant – a red racer nerite snail!

I think it looks beautiful and I hope you do too.
