The other day I was looking at an empty mayonnaise jar and thinking, “What if I turned that into an aquascape?”
So I went online and researched lighting and plants for nano aquascapes and found this 3W light on eBay. Made in China, it’s got 14 LEDs, which are biased towards the red and blue spectrums. This should make it ideal for aquatic plant growth. There’s no built in timer or control over intensity, which you sometimes get with LED aquarium lights, but it only cost £6.
Watch the unboxing here and then watch this space. I’m going to test it out in my next experiment – a tiny planted jar nanoscape.
You can find this exact on here on eBay UK
Or, there’s a similar one on Amazon UK, which is 5W.
These are Amazon Associates links and purchasing through them will help support aquaSplainer. If you do this, then a big thank you!
As mentioned, I’m thinking of setting up a tiny planted aquascape in a jar very soon, using minimal materials and at low cost, so watch this space. It should be… illuminating!
