How to plant echinodorus AKA Amazon sword

Echinodorus argentinensis in the background of a community tank

Echinodorus – also called Amazon sword – is a versatile genus of aquarium plants. They’re hardy, and come in a range of varieties which suit foreground, mid ground and background positions in your aquarium.

In this short video, I look at how to prepare and plant echinodorus argentinensis in the background of a large community aquarium. It’s really easy, which is why it’s such a short video. You just trim the roots, clean up the plants, push in some root tabs then plant using aquascaping tweezers.

I expect these plants to double in height, approximately. Anyway, enjoy the video.
